There are many ways to control your Xbox right from your iOS device. The OneCast app also supports various methods of controlling your Xbox whether you use your Xbox One wireless controller or an MFi controller or OneCast’s very customizable on-screen controller. All of that isn’t even scratching the surface with this app. I’m the only person that uses my Xbox One but if you have a family or just a couple friends or family that want to mirror your Xbox to their iOS device they totally can since OneCast supports multiple profiles. The iOS app is super easy to set-up it took me less than 2-minutes to get the app installed on my iPad and setup with my Xbox and then I was racing down the countryside in Forza Horizon 2. There’s still a noticeable delay with when you’re playing a game that depends on timing but with the technology that this app is as good as it gets considering it’s wireless. The latency with the actual iOS device and the Xbox was none to 0, the highest latency I ever got was 3ms. I was able to get a steady 1080P quality on a 25Up and 100 Down internet connection with very few lag spikes. The iOS app works extremely well, assuming you have a good internet connection with your Xbox One. OneCast was the first one to bring streaming from your Xbox One to your Mac and do it right without any loopholes and they’ve managed to do the same but with the tech that can be stuffed in your backpack or your pocket. There are many apps that mirror your PC to your iOS device but there isn’t one that mirrors your Xbox One to your iOS device on the App Store. The folks over at OneCast were able to send me a copy of their iOS app “OneCast” and I’m completely blown away. From the Connection area in the Xbox Console Companion app, select Stream to show the Xbox One screen and pick your game. Though, OneCast may be the solution and a good solution for that fact. I would love to play some AAA games from my Xbox One S on my iPhone or even my iPad but there hasn’t been a good solution for it. If I’m wanting to play some games I’ll just pull out my iPhone and put a few rounds into Fortnite or just a quick platformer. I love playing AAA games on my Xbox One but I don’t always have the time to lay down in bed and play a few matches of Fortnite. ![]()
